ChatGPT vs Gemini.

Which one really is better?

With the recent outages suffered by ChatGPT, many were left with no other option than to find other solutions to create and edit their content. In the midst of the holiday season, ChatGPT’s daylong outage could not have come at a worse time. But which one really is better?

Admittedly, as someone who has been a Pixel advocate since its inception and a current Google Beta Tester, I do find myself leaning towards Gemini. Google runs the world, whether we want to admit it or not. And, having an AI chat that is connected to other programs helps garner your personal traits to make it more human. We essentially had to teach ChatGPT who we are by creating more in-depth prompts and editing queries before it even started to sound like us. Even still, it’s missing a lot of personal traits.

When ChatGPT first introduced its image creation, I followed another LinkedIn user’s prompt of “create the world around me as you see me” – this is the abbreviated version, but you get the picture. Some elements were spot on, but some were so far off. It was basically characterizing the life it thought I SHOULD have, not the life I do have. I don’t adhere to expectations, sorry.

With that being said, does Gemini really get me? Yes, I have access to new features and tools through the Beta program that others may not, but that is still all tech-facing. I search addresses and build lists of restaurants I want to visit in Maps, I look up companies and people to get information on industries and data I’m interested in, and apparently, I now get paid for my opinion from Google search. Geolocation is also a wonder. It picks up on your habits, your changes, your requests, and even people you visit. Every time I get into my vehicle, the Google/Android Drive app gives me recommended addresses. However, I may or may not have had to reprimand Gemini for completely missing the mark helping me edit this post.

Google owns a lot. And, one thing I keep saying about AI is that it’s still missing that personable touch, that human nature that connects us all. But, is Gemini onto me? If it starts reading my mind and starts directing me through Target for my list of items, then I’ll really know! So, Google, if you’re listening, I have a great idea for an App!

Which do you prefer? ChatGPT or Gemini? Or are you a renegade that prefers a dark horse?
